This project tasked me with designing a poster in Photoshop that would function as a biography for a Creative who has passed away. I chose Harper Lee as my subject. For the poster, I used threshold and masking techniques in Photoshop to unify my elements. I included characters from the film version of her book, To Kill A Mockingbird. I also incorporated symbolism from the novel into the design, particularly the mockingbirds flying across her face. In the novel, the mockingbird is described as only wanting to create music, without attention or recognition. In much the same way, Harper Lee created a beautiful work of fiction for the world, but preferred to stay out of the spotlight during her life.
